Courses
Creative writing classes are beneficial whether or not you know yet what you want to write. Through the process of writing, you learn much about yourself. There is also a great deal of satisfaction in producing something expressive. The focus on our courses is primarily on the process so you can discover your own natural style of writing. There is much attention paid to important aspects of craft and to the benefits of reading and revision.
Course tutor for all courses is Diane Brown, award-winning poet, novelist and memoirist. She won the Janet Frame Memorial Award in 2012 and the Beatson Fellowship for 2014. Diane has been teaching creative writing for 20 years, first in Auckland and later in Dunedin where she was the coordinator and tutor for Creative Writing at Aoraki Polytechnic in Dunedin for 9 years.
